As a program of UMFC, the Hume Riverina Community Legal Service (HRCLS) provides legal assistance services responsive to the varying needs of communities extending from the cities of Albury/Wodonga, Wangaratta and Benalla to townships throughout the Towong, Mansfield, Alpine, Indigo shires, as well as 10 additional LGA's through the Southern Riverina of NSW.

About the Opportunity
HRCLS is seeking a full-time Business Analyst to join the team in either Wodonga or Wangaratta, VIC. This newly created 12-month contract position reports to the Manager of Operations and works closely with the Operations Support Coordinator. In this role, you'll drive digital transformation, enhance service accessibility, and lead data-driven innovation across the Hume Riverina Community Legal Service (HRCLS).
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analysing workflows and supporting the implementation of digital tools to enhance service delivery
- Designing dashboards and presenting data to support service evaluation
- Leading the redesign of intake and triage systems to improve access, equity, and efficiency
- Collaborating with stakeholders to co-design solutions aligned with client needs and staff workflows
- Documenting new processes and developing resources to support system implementation
- Supporting staff training, change management, and capability building
- Promoting a safe, trauma-informed, and culturally inclusive working environment
- Supporting risk management, compliance, and organisational policy adherence
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives on improving systems, empowering teams, and making a difference through smart, user-focused service design.
About You
To qualify, you will need a relevant qualification in IT, Business or related field or demonstrated experience in business analysis, service design, or process improvement, gained in any sector. While a background in legal or community services may be desirable, it is not mandatory. You are someone who brings:
- A collaborative, can-do attitude and the ability to work closely with diverse stakeholders
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to write and document processes clearly
- High attention to detail and effective time management
- A thoughtful, consultative mindset — you seek to understand frontline workflows before suggesting improvements, and approach systems change with empathy and practicality
- Motivation to use your skills to enable meaningful social impact and support the work of legal and operational teams

This position offers a competitive salary of $103,799 – $118,441 pro-rata PLUS Super. You'll also enjoy a range of generous benefits, including:
