Our Story:

We are an independent, non-government, community-managed agency offering a range of quality services for children and families within our communities that are responsive to the varying needs of North East Victoria and Southern NSW, extending from the cities of Albury/Wodonga, Wangaratta, Benalla to townships throughout the Towong, Mansfield, Alpine and Indigo shires. By providing information, support and advocacy, we seek to empower individuals, families and community groups and contribute to a balanced, just and ethical society.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and experienced individual to join our team in Wodonga or Wangaratta VIC as our Child & Family Services Manager on a full-time basis. 

How You’ll Make a Difference:

In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management across our Child & Family Services (CAFS). You will also contribute to the broader organisational planning and developing initiatives, projects and reporting, as well as work collaboratively across the sector, networking with key partners, peak bodies and funding bodies.

You will also oversee an Assistant Manager and Team Leaders within the Family Services, Specialised Programs, Family Therapy and Early Years teams and ensure they are equipped to empower their team members to make a difference in their community every day.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and effective compliance and operation of complex, high-quality and outcome-focused Child and Family Services
  • Strengthen and develop the Child & Family Services
  • Lead and provide direction to ensure a strong, cohesive and high-functioning leadership group
  • Provide regular high-quality supervision and work planning for the CAFS Leadership team
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the UMFC Agency Leadership Group through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and risk management

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

To be considered for this role, you should hold tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Community Welfare Practice, Human Services, or another relevant discipline.

You’ll also have the demonstrated ability to perform high-level duties, such as overseeing legal and funding compliance and managing budgets. Your extensive knowledge of the Child and Family Services sector, including legal obligations and current trends, will be critical to your continued success in the role (and within the wider organisation).

Other requirements include:

  • Highly-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • High-level leadership skills
  • A commitment to operating within a child-focused and child-led framework
  • Satisfactory VIC and NSW Working With Children Check, National Police Check, and a current Driver’s License

The Benefits:
