We are currently seeking two Family Relationships Services Practitioners to join our dedicated, hard working team in Albury, NSW. One of these positions is ongoing whilst the other is a 12 month contract (with the possibility of extension). Working within our Family Relationship Services, this critical role will see the successful candidate join the Parenting Orders Program and Children’s Contact Service, providing integrated support to families experiencing separation.

Family Relationships Services Practitioner

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, efficient services in line with UMFC's values of Participation, Respect, Excellence, Justice and Honesty. This role encompasses intake and assessment, case management, child inclusive practice, counselling, referral and support for those experiencing separation. The primary responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support and education to assist families in reducing conflict and improving family functioning;
  • Provide integrated support to families, including counselling and group work to achieve workable parenting arrangements;
  • Manage caseloads in line with all regulatory and agency guidelines and policies;
  • Fostering a collaborative working relationship with other Family Relationship Services programs and external agencies, which will create a culture that promotes child safety and the promotion of the child’s best interest.

What you'll bring to UMFC

With a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Sciences, Community Services or equivalent. Previous counselling experience and familiarity with the Family Law Act 1975 and the child and family service system and legal system will be highly advantageous. Demonstrated experience working with children and families is essential.

Your well-developed communication and interpersonal skills required in order to build and establish rapport with clients, internal and external programs/agencies.

All candidates will need to possess or be able to obtain:

  • Working with Children Check - Victoria and NSW.
  • Satisfactory National Police Check.
  • Current driver's licence.
